Islamic teachings tell us that helping those in need brings blessings and that doing good deeds brings barakah into our life, even during difficult or frightening times. A common way for people to ensure that underprivileged populations obtain nourishing food to improve their health and combat hunger is by offering sadaqah in the form of an animal sacrifice. When a loved one passes away, when a person gets married, when they purchase a home, or when someone becomes ill, people choose to offer sadaqah in the form of animal sacrifice.
